About Us

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

I was going to say, “thanks for having the guts to visit!”, but thought that might be a bit too cheesy.

Seems I’ve said it anyway!

My guess is you’re visiting my site because you’ve got some digestive issues and are trying to gain some knowledge and insight. That’s what brought me here too.  In the spring of 2017, I was diagnosed with collagenous sprue, a rare inflammatory bowel disease that causes mucosal lesions in the small intestine. If that doesn’t sound bad enough, you often feel nauseous, have persistent diarrhea, consistently lose weight and the severe malabsorption causes multiple nutrient deficiencies that can ultimately become fatal. It has landed me in the hospital on a number of occasions. Not the greatest ride to be on, but here I am.

I’m not just about the pipe works though. This blog is about dealing with so many other aspects of life affected by a troubled gut. The ups, the downs, the practical too. It has been and continues to be quite an adventure and I’d like to share this road with you. I’m no expert but hopefully can provide you with some awareness and understanding of inflammatory bowel disease from a personal perspective.
